Every now and then I like to go with my mum and my canine siblings in the car for road trips.
The first time I ever went it was just at the tail end of summer and mum brought the dogs out of the house, little did she know I followed them right to her SUV. When she turned to pick the dogs up, to put them inside the truck, she was shocked to see me waiting along side with them. She laughed and said ” oh Jaxy, do you want to come to?” She then picked me up and placed me in the back seat with my brother and sister; this was so exciting! I hadn’t been for a car ride since I got neutered, and of course that wasn’t an enjoyable trip.
She cracked the back window, so much fresh air; I loved it! Bently was standing on the arm rest to get a better sniff through the slightly opened window; mum didn’t want it open too much in case I got scared she said, I followed Bently’s actions too get a better sniff, where on earth are we going?
Mum had the radio on, very softly, with the breeze and slight country music whispering in the background, it was a very enjoyable trip. Back then Sophee was very nervous in the car, so she slept curled up in a ball for the majority of the ride.
Soon we pulled up to this big building, it had a speaker that we drove up to. Mum then placed an order for a coffee and a couple treats; when we got up to the window the lady had a good chuckle seeing us all in the back and gave mum a couple of dog biscuits. She broke a little piece off for me, but I do’t like them so she gave one to Soph and one to Bently; she said I could have a different treat that I like at home. Oh boy road trips and treats, could this day get any better?!
As we drove, I presume home, I watched the trees sway, and listened to the birds chirp; I even seen a few different dogs I haven’t met ever before! I looked over at my siblings, Soph went right back to the curled up ball she was at he beginning of the trip, and Bently had his nose out the other window sniffing away trying to take in all the information he could before the ride was over.
As quickly as the trip had started, it was over and we were home again; aahhh that wonderful familiar feeling and scent of home. What a great relaxing little trip that ad been, I think I might just follow mum and the canines out for another trip sometime soon.
Hey fur-fam, have you or your furry friends ever been on a wonderful trip together? Leave us a comment, we’d love to hear all about your wonderful adventures!
The ice wind blowing through my hair, the frosting cold on my pads, the sparkling glisten of the icicles hanging from the edges of roofs and trees; yes winter we know you’re here.
Me being the small fluffer dog, I am not a big fan of the winter season, don’t get me wrong I do enjoy it, for a quick moment, then I’ve had enough. It’s just so cold it makes me barking mad to have to go out there to pee, the snow banks become taller then me at some points here!
But what do you do when you live in Ontario, Canada? I do love it here though, so I guess I’ll just bare it. Before I know it Spring will be here, ahhh Spring, puddles to jump through, the smell of flowers in bloom, and the chirp of the birds as they come home for the next few seasons.
I definitely can not wait; Soph hasn’t seen a Spring here yet, oh my goodness it’ll be so exciting for her to see all the flowers start to come up, all the birds come back and the puddles, oh so many puddles; to run through and jump in. I just can’t wait!
Whats your favourite season fur-family; and what makes it so pawesome? Bark at us and well bark back, we love hearing from you!
Some days Sophee and I enjoy helping mum and dad while they work in the office, we give them plenty of ideas, snuggles, and remind them to take much needed breaks; to let us outside of course.
Other times we enjoy wrestling around the office with each other, playing a powerful game of tug-a-war and making all kinds of ruckus; sometimes the parents find it hard to focus when we do that, but they laugh and enjoy the noise anyway.
Since the holidays started they have been home so much working away in their home office, which is so much fun for us; more time with them yay!
It’s going to be hard to re-adjust when they go back to going to work I think, we love when they’re home. But we have had so much fun this holiday that were both pretty tired, at least when mum and dad are at work we can catch up on some much needed beauty rest.
Do your fur-pals help out with work around your house? We enjoy hearing from you all; bark at us and well bark back !
So great to see you, it’s been a dog’s age! Hope you’re all having an excellent holiday season with the people, and fur pals you love!
Let me tell you about my first ever Christmas experience! It was absolutely amazing, the sights, the smells, and oh boy; those delicious treats!
I was a little scared at first; so many different and new things going on and surrounding me, it was slightly intimidating. Eventually I relaxed though, my big brother Bently really helped me settle into the season; he is just so relaxed!
When Christmas day finally came, oh my goodness, the presents! Mum tried to get me to open some but I was so unsure of that crunchy wrapping paper and I didn’t want to hurt the contents inside; I just couldn’t do it, so mom helped me instead.
We got SO many new toys and treats it was absolutely amazing, but my all time favourite part was grandma and my uncle coming to visit. We all had so much fun, playing, and showing them all the paw-some toys we got.
I hope you all had as an amazing time as I did, and maybe even experienced something new you hadn’t before. I can’t wait until next year, now that I know what to expect I’ll be far more prepared!
